After a sudden move to another country and the loss of a close family member, my body began to fall apart.
At first, it felt like stress — normal stress, maybe. But soon, things got strange.
My blood pressure became unpredictable. I woke up with sharp pain in my feet. My heart would beat as if I was running, even when I was sitting still.
And I was alone in a foreign country, with little understanding of the language, struggling to explain my symptoms to local doctors.
I turned to what I knew. I called my homeopathic doctor, who gave me a constitutional remedy. But it didn’t fully help.
So I started searching deeper — and I came across a powerful book that changed everything:
“Let’s Heal Everything” by Evgeny Lebedev.
In that book, Lebedev shares how he helped friends and visitors recover through a strict natural lifestyle — one of the first things he emphasized was macrobiotic plant-based eating.
That was the beginning of my healing path.
I cut out everything that made my body work harder to survive:
❌ Sugar
❌ White flour and pastries
❌ Coffee and strong tea
❌ Meat, fish, eggs
❌ Cheese and animal fats
❌ All processed, chemical-laden foods — mayonnaise, ketchup, sodas, chips, snacks
Instead, I switched to a simple plant-based diet, focusing on cooked and raw vegetables, grains, and natural herbs.
Within days, I began to feel the difference.
To track the connection between my food and symptoms, I started keeping a daily food and wellness journal. This simple habit helped me tune in to my body — and I now share this journal with others (you can download or buy it on Amazon if you’d like).
My relative had passed away from a heart attack. That grief pushed me to explore heart health on a deeper level.
In one medical journal, I read about how COVID-19 may increase blood clotting risk, even after recovery.
That made me think: what if this was part of what was happening in my body too?
That’s when I started taking a herbal blend with meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria) – a traditional Slavic herb known for its blood-thinning and anti-inflammatory properties.
You can find it here.
In Ayurveda, I also found that turmeric supports healthy blood flow and reduces inflammation naturally. I started adding it to warm plant-based meals, and to this day, it’s part of my daily routine.
That was only the first step.
Food alone didn’t cure me, but it gave me strength to keep going — to listen to my body and find deeper roots of healing.
In the next article, I’ll share more about the Slavic techniques I began to practice, how I used herbs and nature for emotional recovery, and what helped with panic attacks and energy loss.
If you’re on your own healing path — or searching for one — I hope this story gave you a little spark.
You are not alone. Healing is possible. And it starts with listening deeply to your body.
